lululemon Align vs. LSKD Fusion Leggings: Which Running Tights Are Best for You?

| 2 Min Read
lululemon Align tights offer soft, all-day comfort, while LSKD Fusion leggings provide a snug, supportive fit for focused training.

Choosing running tights is less about finding one pair that does everything than matching the fabric and fit to the day. Some runners want soft, unrestricted comfort for easy miles and recovery; harder workouts call for a closer fit that stays put without restricting movement. Two popular options illustrate that trade-off: lululemon Align High Rise Pant ($128) and LSKD Fusion Ultra High-Rise Legging ($108). The obvious question is which one is better. The more useful one is what each is better for.

I wore both for a month while training for the Copenhagen Half Marathon, rotating them through easy runs, speed sessions and long runs. Their pockets carried my phone, gels and keys, and sometimes a 16-ounce water bottle. I also wore them on days without a workout, because running gear often has to earn its place beyond the training plan.

Two tights, different jobs

Three other Runner’s World testers also assessed fit, comfort, breathability, sizing and how the tights held up in everyday wear. Our results point to a practical distinction: neither pair wins across the board. One may suit recovery and all-day comfort; the other may be a better match for focused training. If you’re choosing between them, the right pick depends on whether you’re heading out for an easy jog, lifting, doing yoga or simply staying comfortable between runs. Pros

  • Very soft, comfortable fabric
  • Works well for all-day wear
  • Comfortable waistband
  • Plenty of pocket storage
The LSKD Fusion Ultra High Rise Full Length Legging is priced at [$108 from LSKD](https://us.lskd.co/products/fusion-ultra-high-rise-full-length-legging-pockets-black) and is tagged for high impact workouts. Its soft fabric, supportive fit, and deep pockets are clear strengths. The tradeoff: the material fits snugly, so consider sizing up if you prefer more room.

Fit, Fabric, and Feel

Both the lululemon Align High-Rise Pant and LSKD Fusion legging won over testers on comfort. They use different materials, but testers described each as exceptionally soft. That shared comfort matters; the bigger differences show up in how each pair fits and holds up during movement. The Align is made primarily from nylon blended with Lycra elastane. Nylon can bring swimwear to mind, but these pants feel light and plush, with four-way stretch that allows free movement. Running reviews editor [Amanda Furrer](https://www.runnersworld.com/author/217175/amanda-furrer/) had the same reaction: “[The lululemon pants are] smooth and soft, and I feel like I could wear them all day because of their comfort.” Fit is the catch. Aligns run roomier than other lululemon tights: I wear a size 8 in the [Fast and Free Tight](https://shop.lululemon.com/p/fast-free-6-pocket-high-rise-tight-25-up-design/ln5ho4foxk) and the [Wunder Train Tight](https://shop.lululemon.com/p/wunder-train-hr-tight-28/v5c9j9nykh), and both fit well. The Align in that same size tends to slide down when I put anything in its pockets, while the ankles feel loose. Softness is a real selling point, but it doesn't solve a fit that shifts under load. Which Pair Belongs in Your Rotation?

The LSKD Fusion and lululemon Align serve different kinds of days. The Fusion’s recycled polyester and spandex fabric feels soft but fits closer, with a snug ankle and compression that stays flexible for stretching and running. Testers found it flattering, and the fabric softened and loosened slightly after washing. It takes more effort to pull on and peel off, though that close fit helps it stay put.

That security matters on a run. I don’t want to stop and hike up my tights, and I want the same pair to work for strength training or Pilates. The Fusion is built for running, walking, Pilates, functional training, and HIIT. Its thicker fabric also makes it a good cold-weather option. Content hype editor Ashley Tysiac says hers stayed in place through both runs and strength sessions: “Not once did I have to pull up the leggings back to my waist midrun, nor did I notice slipping or movement of material while running and strength training.”

The Align has a different strength: it feels light and plush, with four-way stretch that suits yoga, pre-run stretching, easy miles, and recovery days. Its waistband doesn’t dig in, according to Furrer, and the tights are easier to take off after a workout. They dry fairly quickly, like the Fusion. For runs where you’re carrying more, the Align’s two side pockets and rear pocket offer useful storage.

Winston Zhou: The Align has two side pockets and a back pocket, so there’s plenty of storage space.

There’s no need to force a single winner here. The Fusion is the better fit for cold long runs and harder sessions; the Align makes more sense for yoga, relaxed runs, and days when comfort is the priority. If you’re building a rotation, matching each pair to the workout is the practical choice. See gear that can keep up with your training, and consider the long runs, high-intensity workouts, and HIIT sessions ahead. For easier days, think easy runs and recovery days.
